- Bay Street, a 1,000,000 sq. ft. urban village project in Emeryville, California
- A 300-room Courtyard by Marriott in Emeryville, California;
- The Pacific Center, a 600,000 sq. ft. office and retail complex in Downtown San Francisco.
Joe Chen received an AB (Cum Laude) in Architecture from Princeton University and is a current member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC).
